Sabbatical Schedule

The most common question I get these days is, "When does your sabbatical begin?"  My most common answer is, "Not soon enough!"  Seriously, many have wondered when the sabbatical begins, when it ends, and what I'll be doing.  So, here's the basic schedule for the sabbatical:

June 8-10   "Leading Change" class at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN
June 14 Send-off Sunday - my last Sunday at Pella I before the sabbatical officially begins
June 15-17 VantagePoint3 training for Year 2 in Dyer, IN - the official start of the sabbatical
July 4-10 Iona Abbey in Iona, Scotland - living in community (travel starts July 1 to get there)
July 11-20 Enjoying Edinburgh and Germany with Karin, staying with Wilhelm's family
July 27-Aug 7 Quiet Waters Counseling Intensive with Karin in Denver, CO
August 17 Back to work at Pella I

The spaces between the events will be time for rest, refreshment, and renewal -- time to read a book, watch a ballgame, enjoy a walk in the woods,...

Welcome!

Welcome to my sabbatical blog.  My intent is to use this blog to keep members of Pella I, family, and friends updated on my sabbatical experience.  I don’t know if I’ll have access to the Internet all the time during my sabbatical, but I’ll try to update and post pictures as often as I can.  Although the sabbatical officially begins on June 15, 2009, I will start with a class at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, June 8-10, 2009.  Thanks for checking in, and please check back for more posts before, during, and after the sabbatical!
